Postdoctoral Research Associate on Connected and Automated Vehicles/University of Delaware

Two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) are available in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in control theory with an emphasis in applications related to CAVs, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in HEVs (PHEVs). The prospective Postdoctoral Research Associates will be part of a team consisting of academic and industry partners as well as researchers from national labs to work on an ARPAE project.

The project focuses on developing and implementing novel control technologies aimed at maximizing the energy efficiency of HEVs/PHEVs without degradation in tailpipe out exhaust emission levels, and without sacrificing the vehicle’s drivability, performance, and safety. These technologies will exploit connectivity between vehicles and the infrastructure to optimize concurrently vehicle-level and powertrain-level operations.

They are seeking exceptional individuals who hold a Ph.D. in relevant disciplines and have demonstrated dedication to creativity, innovation, and engineering solutions. The application must include: (1) a cover letter, (2) a curriculum vitae; (3) the names and addresses of three or more references, (4) a two-page statement of research interests, and (5) electronic copies of no more than three representative publications.

Applications should be sent as a single pdf document to Dr. Andreas Malikopoulos ( Αυτή η διεύθυνση ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου προστατεύεται από κακόβουλη χρήση. Χρειάζεται να ενεργοποιήσετε την Javascript για να τη δείτε. ).
