Who should attend?

The school targets young professionals (engineers, consultants, practitioners and public servants), graduate and PhD students, and researchers, who wish to improve their understanding of the assessment of ITS solutions, especially by using simulation tools.

Goals of the summer school

At the end of the summer school the participants will be able to:

– Set up an assessment framework of ITS measures,

– Analyze the current performances of a transportation system with the measure of performance that will allow comparison with the project situation,

– Identify the main pitfalls of assessments studies,

– Use efficiently simulations tools to quantify the expected performances including calibration, validation and multi‐criteria analysis.

Several case studies on the implementation of ITS solutions will be presented with a particular focus on their evaluation. The participants will be provided with NEARCTIS shared ITS resources (simulation software and datasets) for the exercises.

Venue

The summer school will be held in the brand new IFSTTAR building in Marne‐la‐Vallee, near Paris. Connections by urban trains with the centre of Paris and the main airports are easy.

Calendar

Registration is open until April 30, 2013. Attendees will be informed of acceptance or rejection of their application by mid‐May.

Fees

250 € for academics, 500 € for professionals.
