Research Associate in Intelligent Transport Systems required to undertake post-doctoral research on safety and operational issues of autonomous road vehicles.

You will develop a series of intelligent algorithms in the areas of sensor fusion and map-matching using Artificial Intelligence and statistical inferences.

You must have a first degree and postgraduate qualification in transport, or a related discipline such as engineering or statistics. Experience of conducting systematic literature reviews and quantitative research methods using statistical techniques is essential. A PhD, preferably that incorporated ITS and GIS techniques and experience of working in the area of sensor fusion and working with road safety modeling using statistical methods is desirable.

Fixed-term for 18 months

Salary: £27,854 to £28,685 per annum
