Information about funding by the German Academic Exchange Service

After the successful meetings in Rome in 2009 and 2011 in Leuven the 3rd International Conference on Models and Technologies for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) will be held in Dresden in December 2013. Moreover we are very glad to inform you that a funding of the conference by the German Academic Exchange Service will be received. The funding shall encourage the participation of young researchers and professionals from southern and south-east Europe (Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal).
That means in detail, that for up to 35 conference participants from these countries, a flat travel allowance and a daily rate for the stay can be granted. The detailed rates can be found in the table below:

The application procedure for this grant is the following: Applicants should be 40 years or younger, it is not required that the applicant has submitted a paper to the conference.
Please prepare an application document of a maximum of two pages including
– a short motivation statement (maximum 300 words) which should explain how your current research activities relate to the conference topic (Models and Technologies for Intelligent Transportation Systems)
– a short cv (maximum one page)
– a list of references (for experienced researchers)
We especially want to encourage young researchers at the beginning of their PhD programme to join the conference.

Based on the submitted applications, the local organisation committee will decide and inform on its decision by October 2nd the latest.
