The Laboratory of Transportation and Decision Making (TRANSDEM) of the Department of Shipping, Trade and Transport of the University of Aegean, is looking for transportation engineers or economists with a strong background and interest in  the area of mobility analytics and travel behavior modeling. 

They are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, communicative, and eager-to-learn researchers with a drive to progress research. The selected candidate is expected to engage in cutting edge research in the areas of travel behavior analysis, transport policy evaluation, travel survey methods, data analytics, and quantitative analysis. The candidates are expected to have:

• Bachelors/Masters in Engineering or Economics (or equivalent);
• Independent and self-motivated, yet able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in proposal writing for both national and international calls
• Familiar with the use of R, SPSS or similar statistical packages (SAS, etc.)
• Knowledge of the following  is preferred:
  • GIS
  • Machine learning techniques, recommender systems  and bayesian techniques

Offer: Full-time employment in an international context with a competitive salary/scholarship. A PhD could be started. Currently funding is available for one year, but extensions are possible. The position will be based in Athens and the candidate should be able to travel once per month to Chios.
