At the Department of Transport at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) an Associate Professor and an Assistant Professor position is available within the field of Transport Optimization and/or Transport Logistics. The Department of Transport at DTU is the largest transport research community in Denmark and among the largest university-based transport communities in the Nordic countries. The department employs internationally recognized scientists and performs research, teaching of students and cooperates widely with the transport sector, through innovation projects with public and via private companies and public sector consultancy for governmental organizations.
The department’s activities are closely related to (and inspired by) finding leading edge solutions to problems arising in real world transport and logistics planning. Therefore, the department has a close cooperation with industry and other world leading universities as well internally across the department.

Relevant research fields
The position is attached to the department’s Section of Transport Optimization and Traffic Engineering. The research areas of interest of the applicants should be within the fields of relevance to the Section of Transport Optimization and Traffic Engineering. These fields include but are not limited to:

• Distribution planning and scheduling within transport including allocation and utilization of transport equipment and personnel
• Optimization and planning within public transport systems
• Maritime logistics including port operations
• Environmental and energy aspects of transport systems
• Multimodal transport systems and transport network design
• Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and real-time optimization of transport systems including demand responsive transports
