The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is the largest School in the Faculty of Engineering, with approximately 2600 student enrolments and a budget of over $20 million. The School has 48 full time academic staff, 27 professional staff and technical staff and 75 research only appointments. The School of Computer Science and Engineering
The School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW is one of the largest computing schools in Australia. The School has over 40 full time academic staff, over 20 professional and technical staff and over 30 research only appointments. It offers undergraduate programs in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science and Bioinformatics, as well as a number of combined degrees with other disciplines. It attracts excellent students who have an outstanding record in international competitions. At the postgraduate level there is a large PhD research program and coursework programs at the Master’s and Graduate Diploma level in Computing and Information Technology and at Graduate Certificate level in Computing. About the role
This is a joint appointment in the Schools of Computer Science and Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering. The appointee will be involved in the UNSW Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI) with and will collaborate on joint research projects with academic and student members of the Centre.
rCITI is building capacity in Transport integrated systems with a focus that could include estimation of distributed parameter systems, cyberphysical systems monitoring, the use of wireless sensor networks for vehicular/traveller communication, behavioural urban informatics, city logistics and smart cities. The successful applicant will have expertise in one or more of these fields, or a related area, with a focus on collaborative research in the discipline of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and will contribute to research, teaching and administration in both the Schools.
