The work focuses on research and development, for both NEC internal R&D projects and for collaborative European R&D projects with industrial and academic partners, on heterogeneous transportation data analysis for understanding and optimization of mobility based advanced ICT technology. The typical work objectives are transport networks and human behavior modeling, algorithm design, prototype software development, simulations and real-world trials, publications as well as IPR creation. The research work will be carried out in an international team of researchers.
The NEC Laboratories Europe provides an excellent working environment supporting individual creativity as well as strong teamwork. The project team is based in Heidelberg (Germany). English is the working language in the Laboratories. Initially, the position is limited to two years. We are looking for individuals with a broad background in the areas of data analysis and Intelligent Transportation Systems, and we expect a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software or Civil/Transportation Engineering, Applied Mathematics or equivalent professional experience.
