The Niedersächsische Technische Hochschule (NTH) has position openings for:
in the new Research Training Group (RTG) “SocialCars: (De-)centralized cooperative traffic management”.
SocialCars is about to be established at Niedersächsiche Technische Hochschule in Braunschweig and Clausthal, Germany; it is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The overall objective of the interdisciplinary SocialCars RTG is to research new methods and applications of decentralized, cooperative traffic management. SocialCars focuses on the interplay of centralized management (i.e., classic traffic control) and decentralized management (i.e., taking the goals of individual traffic participants into account).
Ph.D. positions are available in the following research fields:
* The human factor in cooperative traffic systems
* Efficient operations in intermodal transportation systems
* Sustainable cooperative traffic management for urban environments
* Distributed intelligent and cooperative systems
* Car-to-X communication
* Dynamic maps and map services
The PostDoc position is expected to be on Modeling and Simulation of Traffic Networks.
The positions are available from April 2014 for a duration of three years. Screening of applications will start on February 15, 2014.
